OUR STORY

Derin International dates back to a decade ago when, shortly after they were married, Sara and Ersan moved from New York City to Ersan’s native Istanbul . Surrounded by the natural beauty and ancient culture of Turkey , Ersan led Sara along the streets of his youth, introducing her to the city’s language and customs. They dreamed about a way to bring some part of it back with them to the states. While on one of their trips to the Grand Bazaar, where Ersan’s grandfather worked as a merchant for 70 years, they encountered small purses made out of replicas on traditional woven carpets. So taken with the beauty of the fabric, they were inspired to create their own fabrics and designs, more in tune with the American market. The response to their vision was overwhelming. Their new company was born and was, fittingly, named after their newborn son, Derin.

Derin International now exclusively designs the fabric and all the bags, accessories and shoes for their product lines which are all made in Istanbul , Turkey . Sara works with the weavers to create a color palate that meets the ever-changing fashion industry while staying true to classic carpet design.



Now located in the beautiful Hudson Valley region of New York, Derin International remains at its heart as it was –– the individual vision of an international couple; a blend of east and west. Proudly the company has grown (along with their family which now includes a daughter, Derya). The fabric handbags and accessories by Derin International truly mirror the lifestyle and family that Sara and Ersan have created together. Derin International has recently expanded and now includes a new and exciting line of jewelry that brings together the motifs of Derin's intricate patterns with bold, sleek design. MY REVIEW

The Derin Collection is always evolving and as the seasons change, new colors and fabric patterns are incorporated into their handbags and accessories. In addition, they continue to create new styles of bags and accessories that will be both fashion forward and stylish as well as useful and functional in today's busy woman's lifestyle. So it is with such excitement and enthusiasm that I have the chance to review a few of Derin Collection's newest designs! The SALLY Handbag which was launched this past Spring and the SUPER CASE which is their newest addition to the Accessories collection. So without further ado, let me introduce both these enchanting pieces to you all:

SALLY HANDBAG

DESCRIPTION:

A classic barrel bag with many functional pockets! The Sally has a hidden outside slip pocket, perfect for a cell phone or keys. Three inside slip pockets and a zippered pocket are lined in our matching border fabric for better accessibility. Zipper closure.

MEASUREMENTS: 12” x 6” x 6”


MY THOUGHTS: I received the spectacular SALLY Handbag in the gorgeous Slate Blue Color and Pattern. The Slate Blue Colors are even more divine to see up front and personal than in the images online. They are neutral so they match with just about everything I wear, but the pattern of the fabric is so dynamic and exotic, that is brings the colors to life! This bag is fascinating because it looks simple and functional, yet it is such an indulgent handbag, with all the marvelous elements to its design. There is a nice size side pocket, which I love for storing my house & car keys in. Then you have the long zippered entrance to the handbag. I love the long wide opening of the handbag because I can easily fit my hand inside to quickly find what it is I am looking for. The handbag is fully lined with beautiful medium brown fabric and there are 3 nice size pockets that I can house my cell phone and other neccessities in that I know I will use regularly and want to be able to access to quickly. Then on the opposite side of the bag there is a large zippered compartment. Wow, all my lipsticks and special beauty products are already neatly store in there so I can retrieve them when needed.

The body of the handbag is more than adequate to accommodate all that I typically carry with me on a daily basis. This is the perfect medium size handbag to compliment all my favorite outfits. The fabric the handbag is rendered in feels so soft and luxurious to the touch, woven with such meticulous delicate detail, but do not be fooled, this handbag is expertly crafted and made of the finest quality and will indeed stand the test of time.

To care for your DERIN handbag is easy: you can simply hand wash them in cool water using a mild detergent. Air dry them overnight and the next day, voila! they are ready to use again and enjoy!

The Sally Handbag can be purchased in a wide variety of colors and patterns. From the rich Bordeaux and Cafe Mocha colors to the bright and vibrant Grass Green and Raspberry colors, there is a Sally bag to fit into any color scheme that suits your personal preference.

All you need in one small case. Your cell phone fits in the back pocket which has a secure flap closure and there is a place for your ID in the front window. Inside there are three credit card slots, a pocket and a zippered compartment. A clip strap makes it easy to attach to another bag or use as a wristlet.

MY THOUGHTS: I received the fabulous SUPER CASE in the stunning Fig Color and Pattern. I can clearly see why they appropriately named this product the SUPER CASE! That's because it will function to house all of your most important items that you typically carry with you when you leave the house. Everything from your cell phone and credit cards to your personal id and driver's license will expertly fit into this ultra cool and very strikingly designed accessory! This sleek case is designed with so much attention to detail. Using a conveniently small amount of "space" they made the most of the square footage that's for sure. I was able to fit comfortably all my necessary items with still space to spare! It is a most impressive accessory and one that would make the absolute perfect holiday gift! You can always expect from DERIN the finest quality workmanship and the most luxurious fabrics in their products. This is a must have accessory that you can either keep in your purse and take out when you don't want to carry your entire handbag around with you, or you can use it as a wrist "clutch" to have with you at all times. It is darling to behold and will catch the attention of those around you with it's adorable style and gorgeous colors and fabric! It is available in a variety of colors so you may want to pick up more than one so you can mix and match with all your favorite outfits!!
