Born in Yugoslavia to a pastry chef and an engineer, Gorjana naturally became a balance of her influences; imaginative yet structured, eccentric, yet simple. Always interested in the details of things, her creativity was spurred at a young age. It was then that the first gorjana pieces were created when the littlest designer made her very own adornments of yarn and buttons, oh so pre-school chic.

At the age of seven, her family moved to Canada and Gorjana quickly adapted to the fast pace lifestyle of North America. Influenced by the rise of eighties pop culture, her impressionable years were spent creating everything from belts to jean jackets while daydreaming to the tunes of famous pop queens in the family's basement.



By the tiime Gorjana reached high school, her family had once again transplanted, now to the United States. It wasn't long before Ford Model & Talent took note and exposed Gorjana to the glamorous, high-fashion world of catwalks and photo shoots. Although she was only in her teens, Gorjana immediately realized that the fashion industry would be where her inventive self and business self would one day be in accord.

Upon finishing college, Gorjana decided it was time to create something she could call her own. Armed with a knack for designing, a wicked fashion sense, and a husband with a keen business mind, she knew it was time to take a chance. Thus in 2004, the contemporary jewelry collection gorjana was fashioned.



And with an optimistic innocence only a newlywed couple in their twenties could have, the two hit the road with little more then a single bag of samples and their four-pound Yorkie in tow. No showrooms, no sales reps, they would forge their own way. And so they did.

The gorjana collection is now carried by the finest boutiques and retailers in the market, constantly featured in the pages of Lucky and InStyle magazines, and seen on the likes of everyone from Sienna Miller to Cindy Crawford. Seeing the opportunity to expand her on-point vision, Gorjana launched her first collection of contemporary handbags in the Fall of 2009.



Much is still expected from this designer, because although she is far from the beginning, her journey is still very far from the end.

MY REVIEW

The terrific folks at gorjana sent me the G Ring Cuff Bracelet in Gold to review. Cuff bracelets are just so fun to wear, adding such a stylish finishing touch to any type of outfit. I enjoy wearing bracelets, and usually one stand out piece is enough to make me feel flirty and confident and glamorous, and the G Ring Cuff Bracelet is a fine example of one knockout piece! Here's what it looks like:

MY THOUGHTS: The bracelet arrived lavishly housed in a soft chamois brown jewelry pouch branded with the gorgana logo. It was then placed in a large brown gift box with the gorjana logo on it. What a beautiful way to receive this delightful bracelet. The first thing that caught my eye was the rich tone of the gold, dazzling and sparkling in the sunlight that was shining through the window. Then I marveled over the simple but very elegant design of the bracelet. Seriously, this piece is impeccably crafted, with nice smooth hammered texturing, firm solid lines creating a bold, striking, distinctive design. The piece is lightweight and airy feeling on the wrist, yet is not flimsy or delicate by any means.

I think this bracelet can carry itself alone, being so versatile in design that it can literally be worn with a multitude of outfits ranging from the most casual to the dressiest of occasions. But how amazing and cool with this bracelet look paired with a few other gold bangles or gold tone bracelets that you already have that you also love. This is now one of my favorite new additions to my Spring and Summer wardrobe and I know I am going to enjoy it for months and years to come.
