Review: MOR Cosmetics

I finally get what the term "the fine art of layering" means when it comes to bath and body products! When you use soap, body cream and perfume that is all the same scent, specifically created to work harmoniously together to give you the ultimate in that fragrance's potential, it takes that scent to a whole new level! Imagine you find the most intoxicating, tantalizing, beautiful scent, by layering that scent you bring out the maximum of that aroma and can enjoy its lingering effects all day long! That is precisely what I had the chance to do with 2 different fragrances from MOR Cosmetics! MOR Cosmetics is an exquisite line of luxury bath, body and pampering products sold in the most exclusive boutiques. MOR Cosmetics offers an elaborate collection of fantasy, indulgent and exotic fragrances that will entice and delight you. The products are made in Australia and they are housed in some of the most stunning, truly breathtaking packaging I have seen. If you want to experience a truly decadent, uniquely divine bath and body skin care line, that is so alluring in both appearance and exceptional quality, then you have come to the right place. Inspired by our own delight in personal luxury, we invite you to indulge in every sense with MOR…

MOR is the expression of a dynamic collaboration between Australian designers, Dianna Burmas and Deon St. Mor.

Creative spirits merged when they first met in 1998 unaware that in just over three years, they would be running what would become a hugely successful international body care company.

At the time of their meeting, Dianna was carving a reputation as a talented visual merchandiser, stamping her refreshing aesthetic on department store floors across the globe. Meanwhile, Deon, an industrial design graduate, was co-owner of a budding, Melbourne-based interior design company.

With a shared passion for travel, food and the arts ~ their union led to the development of an extensive range of contemporary lifestyle products and the opening of an interior-design retail store in the Melbourne CBD. Their signature pieces included lamps, vases, cushions, candle holders and stationery with a distinct, chic-urban edge.



The range extended to include a collection of soaps ~ their first foray into the world of beauty products. A collection of lotions, aromatic oil blends and candles followed soon after. Inspired by traditional apothecary, they had fallen in love with the endless possibilities of blending age old & contemporary ingredients and decided there and then to channel their energies into this vision.

In the midst of discussing their newly made plans in May 2001, in the back of a New Delhi cab, Deon spotted a street sign with the word, MOR (meaning peacock in Hindi). It struck a chord and upon their return to Melbourne, the pair immediately registered MOR Cosmetics.



The collections combine Deon and Dianna’s flair for design and are presented in uniquely beautiful packaging. The duo is continuously refining their ranges ~ sourcing new ingredients & innovation to capture the essence of luxury and well-being.

Today, MOR brings you over 250 exquisite pampering products. The brand is sold in some of the world’s savviest beauty and lifestyle emporiums, spas and department stores, including Harrods & Fenwick’s in the UK, Fred Segal, Nordstrom, Lisa Kline & Anthropologie in the USA, David Jones & Myer in Australia.



MOR also enjoys a cult following around the globe with a celebrity fan base of red-carpet beauties from Sydney to New York, Tokyo to London and beyond.

MY REVIEW

The gracious folks at MOR Cosmetics sent me several products from their LITTLE LUXURIES COLLECTION. The products in the LITTLE LUXURIES line are smaller in size than the products sold in the regular collection lines, which is just fantastic for those who love to bring their favorite bath and body skin care products with them when they travel or go away from home, or for someone who may want to experience different products from MOR Cosmetics and just want to give the products a try without buying the full size product. Either way, these are darling little treasures and believe me when I say they are smaller but they are filled with a lot of product in each one.

They say you can't judge a book by its cover, but in the case of the packaging of MOR Cosmetics the products are just as exceptional and luxurious as the classy, elegant, fit for a queen packaging that you find them in. The designs on the paper are gold encrusted or embossed, very regal and royal looking. There is lots of intricate filigree and pretty graphics that bring the packages to life. With rich robust colors decorating the boxes, tins and cylinders the products are housed in, you will be blown away by their beauty. You will be mesmerized by the packaging alone, not wanting to disturb the bows or containers in any way, but alas you must to get your hands on these very fine, creamy, rich feeling bath and body products!

Vanilla Musk with Jasmine Flower gloriously rapture in the delicious MOR Marshmallow Little Luxuries Mini Body Butter. Sugar dipped Rose Petals with White Carnation and Cotton Candy blend beautifully to create a deliciously sweet perfume. A lovely gift or a great travelling companion, the MOR Marshmallow Little Luxuries Mini Body Butter is sure to become a quick favourite of anyone who tries it.

MY THOUGHTS: An addicting sweet, ultra feminine scent, that leaves you wanting to inhale it more and more. It's innocence meets temptation, you take flirtiness to the next level. I absolutely am in love with this most alluring scent. The body butter is rich, creamy, and very hudrating so a little bit of it goes a long, long way. It feels so silky gliding onto your skin and it does not leave any greasy residue. Just the lingering sweet scent that is so lovely to wear on soft smooth moisturized skin. Just wonderful!

Vanilla Musk with Jasmine Flower gloriously rapture in the pretty feminine MOR Marshmallow Little Luxuries Roll-On Perfume Oil.

Sugar-dipped Rose Petals with White Carnation and Cotton Candy blend beautifully to create a deliciously sweet perfume. The MOR Marshmallow Little Luxuries Roll-On Perfume Oil is a great accompaniment to the MOR Marshmallow EDP 100ml, in a handy handbag size.

MY THOUGHTS: The perfect companion for the Body Butter. Using a little bit of this product too goes a long way. It is a light oil, doesn't leave your skin sticky in any way, and provides a soft but noticeable amount of scent to anywhere you want to roll this. I like putting it behind my ears, in the crease of my arms, on my wrists, and behind my knees, oh an in my cleavage, okay I know I an weird, LOL!! I am now keeping this in my purse so I have it with me at all times. Although the sweet glorious scent lingers on my skin for hours, I find that throughout the day I want a fresh bolt of it to awaken my senses, give me some aromatic pleasure and bring the scent back to life on myself. It is addicting indeed!

This high-gloss Lip Nectar renders sweet lips that beg to be kissed! Worn alone or over lipstick, create the perfect pout that will leave your admirers swooning.

MY THOUGHTS: Oh in deed if you want to have kissable lips this product will help you to bring it on!! I love to wear this on my lips just being around the house to keep my lips perfectly hydrated and for me, I love to know that my lips smell beautiful. It means my husband will be drawn to them and me! Just around the house the color is barely discernible, just a very high gloss with an ever so visible hint of pink. They make your lips look fuller and alive. But when I go out I like to use this as the top layer over my regular colored lipstick to give my lipstick high gloss and bring out its color too! Of course also the hint of fragrance is another fine reason to want to wear this all the time! It lasts on my lips at least an hour before I feel the need to reapply and doesn't leave your lips feeling too tacky or clumpy. I do put it on in moderation, applying it to my bottom lip only then I purse it together with my upper lip. I don't like too much high gloss because then it just feels like it is sitting on your lips waiting to roll off, and that's not a pleasant feeling. I find with MOR products, less is more because they are just so luxurious you don't need a lot to be able to reap the benefit of using them.

MY THOUGHTS: Oh yes, this soap is dreamy to use in the shower! Talk about creating an aromatic spa like experience in the comfort of your own bathroom! When I say I felt like a queen showering with this I kid you not. I must have taken an extra long shower because I was enjoying the rich creamy lathering consistency of this soap not to mention that my entire bathroom smelled like heaven on earth! The sweet vanilla musky jasmine scent permeated my towels, the air, the hallways outside my bathroom, it was an amazing experience! If you want to give someone the gift that keeps on giving, purchase them some of this soap and they will love you forever! The soap leaves no soapy residue feeling to your skin, but you will notice your skin is very soft and smells fabulous! You will want to add to this first layer of scent by following up with the matching body butter, yes, the fine art of layering is a must! You don't want to stop the growth of this scent on your skin.

MY THOUGHTS: This scent is definitely more exotic than the Marshmallow Collection of products. I marvel at the unique blend of notes in this fragrance and it is really a spicey, sexy, enticing scent that I think is splendid to wear at night when you want to cast that bewitching magical spell on those around you!! The body butter performed exactly as I reported in the Marshmallow Body Butter review with the exception that this scent is more prevalent and obvious when you apply it so use sparingly!! Your skin will love the effective hydrating properties this body butter gives it and it will leave your skin silky soft and so smooth!

MY THOUGHTS: A very rich, emollient hand cream, that your fingers and hands will thank you for. If you have the slightest bit of dryness on your hands, just a teeny tiny amount of this will smooth that dryness away and leave your hands looking 10 years younger and smelling amazing. With Mother's Day around the corner, I know this is the perfect gift for my Mom. She is always complaining of dry hands and she loves to smell wonderful and I know this is sure to be a double pleaser for her!

MY THOUGHTS: I basically have the same thoughts about this perfume oil that I stated up above when I reviewed the Marshmallow Perfume Oil, with the exception that I will carry this in my purse to use when I go out at night. It is a much more dramatic scent, full of intrigue and exotic undertones and is the ultimate in a night time scent. When you walk by someone on a warm balmy summer night and they take a "whiff" of you wearing this scent, they will be drawn to you like a magnet, so beware and wear with care, LOL! Kidding aside, you will find people drawn to you when you wear this scent, so enjoy the attention!!
