The Body Shop has debuted some really exciting new products for the Spring! It is with such pleasure that I have a chance to introduce The Spring Collections to you here on my blog. The colors are bright and cheerful, and will surely compliment any color skin tone and enhance your face with very feminine, soft, pretty colors. The Body Shop has also created a delightful new fragrance called LOVE ETC. for Spring that is absolutely a joyful scent to wear, especially during the hot sultry summer months. The scent is delicate, sensual, but not overbearing in any way. I am so thrilled to be able to include The Body Shop's Spring Trend Line as part of my Spring Radiance 2010 Guide. Community Trade
The Body Shop new spring collections look fabulously stylish, while many of the ingredients and products are sourced through the unique Community Trade program, giving expert producers around the world access to a fair trade.
Community Trade Marula Oil from Namibia
Marula oil is a highly effective moisturizing ingredient that helps to condition the skin over time. It also provides essential fatty acids that help to restore the skin’s moisture barrier, thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness. The Body Shop trade with Eudafano Women’s Cooperative provides more than 5000 women in marginalized, rural communities with the rare opportunity of regular work and income.
Community Trade Aloe Vera from Guatemala
Renowned for its incredible soothing and hydrating properties, pure aloe vera is perfect for sensitive skin formulations. The Body Shop trade provides an alternative income for farmers in a country where half the population earns less than $1 a day (the UN’s official poverty level), and helped with the provision of teaching materials for 100 schools in the district.
Community Trade Brazil Nut Oil Peru
Brazil nut oil is a versatile oil, which replenishes the natural oils in the skin, making it a rich skin moisturizer and an excellent hair conditioner. Trade with the suppliers in Peru provide a stable environment for over 250 families for whom opportunities to earn an income may otherwise be uncertain and trade with this supplier helps protect the future of the brazil nut trees.
Community Trade Sesame Seed oil
Sesame seed oil is easily absorbed into the skin. The Body Shop trades with sesame seed farmers in Nicaragua, through a cooperative in the town of Achuapa. This means that The Body Shop can secure high-quality sesame seed oil for use in its products, while these farmers have been able to cut-out the middleman as they earn an income, and they can plan a future for themselves and their families. As well as providing income for their basic needs, trade with the Juan Francisco Paz Silva Cooperative has helped strengthen the sense of solidarity and community in the area.
MY REVIEW
The Body Shop sent me several fabulous products to review. Right off the bat I want to say I love them all! The colors are stunning, really natural, and seemed to give off just the right amount of sparkle and color to make me look alive with a fresh, new glow! I find that The Body Shop produces really high quality products at really affordable prices. The colors always seem to benefit women of all ages and all skin tones. The products are universal, natural, and are sure to make you look and feel radiant. Here are the products I was able to test out:

MY THOUGHTS: I received this most innovative blush in the NEW Golden Coral. Of all the colors of the spectrum, Coral colors always look and work best for me. It can be the dead of winter when my skin looks sallow and pale or the middle of summer when I have a slight tan on my face, and coral shades will always make me look healthy, youthful, and vivid! I am so stoked by this product. Not only it is the coolest applicator, but it glides on so quickly, effortlessly, and easily. Then I used a small blush brush to spread the color exactly where I wanted it.
The color is just divine! It is very light, but gives your skin that golden peachy glow and the illusion of a gentle sun kissed dewy appearance, I adore this!!

I am going to enjoy wearing this color either alone on the days I want a really natural look for my lips, or I am going to use it on top of a much darker shade to bring on the shine and gloss. It is going to be a product that multi-tasks for me, depending on the look I want to create for my lips.

The product has a nice consistency. It is glossy, so you do feel it on your lips. But it is not overly tacky or sticky feeling, like some similar lip products I have used before. It does take a little getting used to a glossy feeling on your lips, but once you are comfortable with the benefits that the moisturizing properties of the product provides you with, you will grow to love and want that glossy feeling.

MY THOUGHTS: I love that these shimmer eye shadows multi-task by providing you with breathtaking colors to wear as well as provide you with treatment for your eye area. That makes them doubly perfect to wear all spring and summer long! The colors have been carefully selected to wear coordinated together or they offer enough robustness that you can wear them alone. For those days that I want a more natural look I plan to wear one color alone but if I am feeling a little frisky (which is often) and I want to really have some fun and play up my eyes to create different unique looks for them, then I will experiment with mixing and blending the colors together in a way that is going to really accentuate my eyes. I love that you can either wear these shadows dry or you can apply them with a wet brush, again, another factor about them that makes them so versatile in what you can achieve with them.

MY THOUGHTS: I receive the Love Gloss in the really sweet Dusky Lavender Color. It is a really soft, light lavender shade that is just lovely! For me it is a sort of retro shade, reminiscent of what I wore when I was a teenager and it does give my lips that innocent, youthful color that makes me smile when I look in the mirror. Of course fifteen years later and I am not that teenager anymore, but she still exists within me and this color brings her out! It is a great shade to wear when you are outside on a warm balmy summer day. The shimmer and sparkle of the frost makes your lips look so pretty in the sunshine! Purple is one of my favorite colors and this gloss is going to be adorning my lips often.

MY THOUGHTS: I received this product in 2 different colors, Sheer Ruby and Sheer Peach. They are very different from one another in color, and both work beautifully with my skin tone. I tend to always wear "peachy" colors so having the sheer ruby is a nice change for me. It is incredible how one product like this can really revamp my look and help me to reinvent other aspects of my look along with it.
I love the light glossiness of this product. It most definitely has a moisturizing effect on my lips which is just what I need when I am outside in the warm weather elements. I can wear this alone of pair it on top of one of my darker shades of lipsticks to switch up that color just a little. This will be in my purse so I can whip some on them in a flash when I want that lively, flirty look on my lips!

I really am pleased with this product. It is the perfect mix of a lipstick that serves to hydrate your lips as well. It gives you nice color coverage without leaving your lips dry or cakey feeling. I love the slender style of the applicator. You can slip these into your purse, they barely take up any room and you can discreetly and quickly add that splash of color to your lips and it is going to last and stay on your lips for a long time! This is more of a matte finish, so you can easily add the love gloss or the high shine lip treatment on top of either shade if you want to create your own illusion and color! I am all about being creative with your makeup, enjoy using it and think outside the box always!

With its wonderful fragrance note, this Eau de Parfum taps into the joir de vivre exuded by young women. It’s all the more exciting to use this Eau de Parfum knowing it’s the first to include Community Trade alcohol made from organic sugar cane, which is both fairly-traded and organically-sourced from organic sugar cane farmers in Ecuador. The cooperative is formed of five associations with over 150 members, benefiting over 750 people. The farmers produce the organically-produced perfume base, or “cane juice,” from the foothills of the Andes where they have been cultivating organic sugar cane and distilling it for generations, using traditional methods of farming and production.
“One of the great pleasures for me is knowing that this fragrance features an alcohol base which is sourced through the unique Community Trade program from The Body Shop. This is definitely another route by which the whole concept of universal love comes alive with this unique fragrance,” said Dominique Ropion.

MY THOUGHTS: There is nothing more refreshing and rejuvenating than kicking off a new season with a brand new scent. You want to feel confident, look fabulous and smell amazing. How often has it been a hot sultry summer day and you get a whiff of someone wearing a scent of perfume or cologne that is so overpowering that you felt you were either going to hurl or get an immediate migraine from breathing in! I kid you not, this has happened to me, many times! I can assure you that this scent is not going to offend anyone on a hot summer day, in fact, it is going to entice them and allure them to gravitate towards you like you were a magnet!
It is a subtle, exotic, feminine, soft scent that will delight your senses and the senses of those around you. It is sweet and sexy, and just a splendid blends of fragrance notes that work harmoniously well together. I am so thrilled to be able to experience this new scent and honestly say it is spectacular. Now I want to be able to use the fine art of layering and purchase the body butter and body lotion so I can nourish my skin with this glorious fragrance.
