"Engage Green has an environmental commitment to the Earth and to future generations. We work hard to seek out earth-friendly materials and environmentally safe production processes that have low or no impact on the planet.
Our LOGO represents our commitment to the Earth. A Penguin and a Rooster -- two animals of very different environments living with the consequences of climate changes. It is a metaphor of our times; a Penguin from the glaciers and a Rooster from the land, riding together toward a common project – stop global warming.
Engage Green designs are environmentally friendly as well as fashionable. All our designs are crafted from recycled and sustainable materials. Our current line uses:Woven Recycled Paper, Recycled Plastic (PETE), Organic Cotton/Hemp and Cork
To create "The Green Cycle" by beginning with the right materials, creating a pleasing design, passing through an eco-manufacturing process and finally ending with conscientious consumers.
To continue searching for new and better ways to lower any negative impact we make on the Earth.
To provide our customers with high quality, fashionable products they will be proud to use and happy to own.
To serve our local community by turning waste into something positive and by spreading information about living green.
Why Recycled Materials?
Recycling is an effective way to conserve our resources, minimize waste, protect our environment and turn consumerism into creative energy. In addition, less water and less energy are required for the production of goods.
Leonor Mendoza, founder and artist of Engage Green, is an award winning artist whose work is part of the Art Museum of the Americas permanent collection in Washington DC. Her sculpture, also made from recycled materials, has been featured in shows around the world. Dozens of private collectors have commissioned her pieces. Born in Venezuela, Ms. Mendoza currently lives in Brooklyn, New York."
"Engage Green has fostered its eco-friendly mission by donating our designs to many organizations.
Some of these organizations include The Nature Conservancy, The Creative Coalition (President Obama’s Inaugural Gala), The Children of Chernobyl (Children at Heart), New Jersey Alexander Graham Bell Association for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, Clarke NYC School, The Little Red Schoolhouse and NYU Stern Social Enterprise Association (SEA).
We’ve also worked with The Brooklyn Museum, Suburban Skye, Prospect Hill PTA (Chic Boutique) and Urban Go Green at the Kalahari building, the first Green Luxury Building in Harlem."
