SOREL Footwear Review

Living here on Lake Ontario in Upstate New York is wonderful, and I truly enjoy the beauty each of the 4 Seasons brings us. But, we are known for some of the harshest, coldest winter's in the Northeast, and that coupled with living on one of the largest Great Lakes is a recipe for brutal, Siberia-like weather! I make sure we are well equipped here to handle the wind, snow, drifting and sub-zero temps that always come to visit each winter by investing in the best possible outdoor gear. This Winter was my year to get some new boots and I could not have made a better selection than The Joan of Arctic Boots from Sorel! I can feel secure and confident this winter season that my feet will be staying more than adequately warm, dry, comfortable and cozy no matter what I am doing outside, even during the harshest of snow storms! I am so enamored with my Sorel Boots that I want it to snow, snow, SNOW, bring it on Mother Nature! It is with great pleasure that I introduce you to Sorel Footwear!

I received the ultra cool Joan of Arctic Boots from Sorel to review. These boots are super cute and yes, sexy too! Who would have thought boots that are designed to protect your feet and legs from the bitter cold could also be a touch sexy?! Sorel managed to create a boot that is not only a first class, state of the art, most functional boot, but it has style and pizzazz too! These boots come in three very versatile colors: Sierra Tan, Black and Hawk and I opted for them in Black color. They are the ultimate in the finest boots I have ever owned and to behold them in person is nothing short of awesomeness!

Here's the description of them from the Sorel Website:

A modern classic, the Joan of Arctic combines Sorel’s celebrated cold-weather performance with a stylish design that’s as smart on urban streets as it is warm in a deep snowpack.

Crafted from waterproof full-grain and suede leather, the high-cut upper is topped with a faux fur snow cuff. A removable recycled felt InnerBoot and 2.5mm felt frost plug armor toes against the cold down to -25° below zero, while the classic handcrafted waterproof vulcanized rubber shell offer a level of warmth and durability that never goes out of style.

I usually wear a size 8.5 or 9 in shoes. But keeping in mind that these are going to function as my hardcore outdoor harsh weather boots, I wanted to make sure that I ordered them large enough so I could wear heavier socks with them. So I opted to order a size 9. Even though I know these boots are built to handle all kinds of outdoor elements, and most likely no cold or moisture will ever penetrate through them, I am glad I ordered them in the size 9 as I like the feel of heavier socks with them. I would say they run true to size, I could have gotten away with a size 8.5 but size 9 fits me perfectly with the heavy socks. Just something to keep in mind if you order yourself a pair.

Okay, so we haven't received much snow here as of yet. But, I know inevitably it will be here soon. So I wasn't able to test these boots out in the elements like I would have liked to, but I did wear them 3 different times when I went out to walk our dogs. Wow did they put an extra "bounce" in my step!! I'm not sure if that is because they are so darn cute I felt extra confident in them, or if it is the fact that offer so much support and they are so refreshingly comfortable, that I felt like I was walking on air in them! I was wearing a pair of flare style jeans the first time I wore them. I didn't bother to tuck them into the boots, they easily slid over the entire boots so I was able to wear the boots rather incognito like. But later that day when I went out for a walk with our dogs I decided to tuck my jeans in to show off the boots. I was able to easily tuck my flare jeans into the boots, there was more than enough room to accommodate them comfortably and I love the really adorable "look" it allowed me to flaunt! These boots are fun and flirty and make your feet feel like they are sitting on a big mound of cotton! You can't help but walk with that extra bounce in your step!

So whether you're in search of the ultimate boot that will keep you warm and dry this winter season without giving up style and design or you want to find someone you care about the finest boots out in the marketplace, SOREL offers you the widest selection of choices that fit into your lifestyle and personal needs. The lace up the front factor of these boots allows you to adjust them to fit your leg shape as well as room to tuck in your slacks or jeans if you so desire. You can also wear lighter socks or heavier socks and you can adjust the laces based on your needs each time.

I am so thrilled with every aspect about these boots. From the meticulous and perfect quality of their craftsmanship to the hot and very hip design of them, they are the best mix of comfort and style I have seen in heavy duty boots in a long time! You will be just as smitten with them as I am when you see them up close and personal, that I can assure you!

Please visit SOREL to browse through their extensive selection of boots and slippers which will please every person on your holiday gift giving list this year!
