REVIEW: Bishop of Seventh LENOX Leggings

I had the fortunate opportunity to review Bishop of Seventh here on my blog a few months ago and discovered this brand to be the most luxurious, meticulously crafted brand of ultra chic designer apparel I have come across in a very long time. It is as though each individual article of clothing was specifically tailored for you, as though you had your own personal seamstress making you your piece of clothing. The level of excellence in the fabric, fine quality of workmanship and the attention to even the most minute of details in each design, makes me awestruck with sheer amazement and joy. So it is with such great pleasure that I am able to include Bishop of Seventh in this year's Holiday Glamour and 2010 Holiday Gift Giving Guide. If you want to treat yourself or surprise someone special with the most spectacular new article of clothing, then you will want to read on and learn all about Bishop of Seventh!

ABOUT US:

Chachi Prasad and Karam Kim introduced a revival to bottoms that would soon set the standard for premium denim and trousers. Originally headquartered on 35th Street in New York, Bishop of Seventh relocated to 1820 Industrial Street, Los Angeles to operate the discreet, signature line of men's and women's wear with the philosophy of providing uncompromised quality and integrity. The entrepreneurial house credits its success to three key factors creativity, technology and craftsmanship (in its highest sense). These attributes come to life in the company's signature cuts (hand sketched, designed and interpreted by Prasad and Kim) and their purist perfectionism of traditional hands-on craftsmanship, a tailor's sense of cut, and architectural detailing. What could be more natural than the synergy created between the traditional skills of bespoke tailoring and postmodern manufacturing working with the most natural and innovative of fibers. Combining a mutual love for old world integrity with a modern sensibility has filled a void in the market that was grievously lacking structured garments.

Each Collection maintains the spirit of our engineering - luxury combined with performance. Today we are privileged to be the chosen label for stylists, editors, A-list celebrities and esteemed clientele in between. With a raging, high street approach to expert construction, the line has garnered a cult following.

DEFINITION: BISHOP OF SEVENTH

A presence from Seventh Avenue in New York City, who learned and manifests exceptional tailoring and design techniques. Bishop's craftsmanship is not that of a novice, but instead a cut above.

DESIGNERS:

CHACHI PRASAD

Founder/Creative Director

Prasad is a design visionary. His technical brilliance was honed while working over twelve years in the New York fashion scene with commendable stints at Calvin Klein Collection, John Varvatos, Oscar by Oscar de la Renta, and Ellen Tracy. Raised in New York, Prasad acquired a BBA with a major in international marketing before continuing on to study at F.I.T.

He decided to use his years of hands-on design expertise and fine craftsmanship to create Bishop of Seventh, a company whose ideals are of quality and tailoring.

In 2003, Prasad met his future partner and wife on a blind date while working at Oscar. His signature lies in his structured construction (of clothing) and hyper-attention to detail and he currently is responsible for design and marketing of Bishop of Seventh.

"Style is about defining an essence of energy... We rework classics, bringing an indefinable edge to them."

KARAM KIM
Co-Founder/Creative Director

Korean born and internationally raised, F.I.T. graduate Karam earned formal training under fashion greats Donna Karan, Michael Kors and Tse. This training has given her an impressive knowledge of design and tailoring - something that she draws upon today. Karam arrived to New York City in 1998 to study fashion design at F.I.T. She maintained a residency in the East Village, where she drew upon street edge inspiration. This led to glowing reviews for her feminine, street edged take on conceptual pieces with clean lines. Karam met her future collaborator and husband in 2003 while working at Vigal Azrouel. She currently is responsible for design and manufacturing at Bishop of Seventh.

"Because fashion has a voice that translates over continents, now is the time for a brand to influence what young men and women wear."

BISHOP OF SEVENTH has recently been in the Press in a variety of some of the most popular magazines out there:

MY REVIEW

The most gracious and generous folks over at
Bishop of Seventh sent me a dynamic, totally incredible pair of Bishop of Seventh LENOX Leggings. Upon opening the box and unwrapping the leggings, I immediately could see that these were not any ordinary pair of leggings. These are high end, couture and most importantly the most unique pair of leggings I have seen to date. To feel the splendor of them in your hands, and run your fingers over the fabric is such a glorious sensation! The material is lusciously soft, slightly slinky and the gauge of the fabric rich and thick and of the finest quality I have witnessed in a pair of leggings. And as you move when wearing the leggings and light reflects off of them, you can see magical silver shimmer infused throughout the fabric of these ultra chic jet black leggings, truly an enchanting sight to see!!

MY THOUGHTS: Honestly, the detail of these marvelous leggings just does not show up in the images above. There are purposefully placed curved lines and darts in the design of the leggings which makes them fit delightfully and highlight your body in all the right places. It adds depth, dimension and indulgent style to them which sets them apart from any pair of leggings out in the marketplace today. These are exceptional in every element of their design, and are made of such high standards, they will last forever and stand the test of time.

Typically when I receive an item of clothing, I wash it before wearing them. But in this case I was so excited to try them on, and I had an event I was attending that I wanted to wear them to, that I bypassed the washing before wearing step. I find with my body shape, I have to always go up one pant size when it comes to leggings and skinny style jeans. So that is what I did in this instance. I ordered one size larger than my typical size and I was very glad I did. These Lenox Leggings fit me perfectly, like a glove, only better! The conformed to my body impeccably well, and lifted and fit snugly in all the right places. The flat front styling, with the 2 side darts made them glide on and sit nicely just below the top of my hips, so they are a lower rise fit on me, but I am long waisted.

What is so super cool about these Lenox Leggings that you cannot see in the pictures above is the "curved" raised line and stitching that runs up along the front sides of the leggings. It draws your eyes to the lines and flatters the shape of your legs so strikingly. This fascinating detail makes the style "pop" and adds depth and dimension to them. There is an air, an element if you will, of sophistication to the Lenox Leggings that make them distinctive and appealing to all kinds of women with a variety of tastes. These are timeless, ageless leggings that fit into the current trends of today, but will also transcend time and evolve with your every changing wardrobe as a key fashion piece for you year round.

The zipper front with button closure gives a touch of elegance and a dressier feel to the more typical styled legging. Also, the gorgeous silver that is "painted" onto the material also gives a very glamorous, classy, dressy feel to them. These will be so amazing to wear throughout the holidays, to give me that updated, fashion forward, euro chic look! I will dress them up with silk blouses, chunky chain necklaces and 4 inch pumps, or dress them down with cotton tanks, vests, and darling little booties. They are so versatile and will add spice and sparkle to your everyday wardrobe and wearing them will set you apart from what everyone is wearing, you will catch the attention and eyes of those around you in these!!
